Regional AFN Chief Mike Smith on The Past Six Weeks


The past six weeks have been a tumultuous time for First Nations across Canada. Chief Terese Spence of Attawapiskat First Nation was on a hunger strike. Hundreds of Idle No More protests and demonstrations took place in communities large and small. Yesterday, the pressure seemed to be relieved somewhat....as Spence ended her hunger strike....and national chief of the Assembly of First Nations, Shawn Atleo, returned to work after a brief medical absence...But there's still much to be solved....and the Idle No More grassroots movement has not faded away....

Mike Smith is the regional AFN chief for the Yukon...
