MP Leef Working On Solutions To Parks Cuts..

A growing number of Yukoners feel the federal government's decision to cut funding to Parks Canada sites and services was not a wise one.  The Yukon legislature passed a motion calling on the federal government to reverse the cuts.

On A New Day, a former curator for the Klondike National Historic Site described how thousands of artifacts, carefully collected over the years, no longer have anyone assigned to watch over them.  And yesterday, a Whitehorse structural engineer revealed his researched concerns that self-guided tours on the S-S Klondike would risk the safety of visitors and the sternwheeler itself.  Michael Gates and Robert Wills both passed their concerns on to Yukon's M-P Ryan Leef and asked for his help reversing the decisions.

Mr. Leef spoke to us from Ottawa about the concerns.
