Lack of Drug Abuse Prevention/Treatment Programs

This week we've been exploring the troubling issue of prescription drug abuse in the Yukon. The debate has been prompted by the fact that oxycontin will no longer be available in a form that's as readily abused.

The old type of the prescription narcotic could be snorted or injected. People addicted to the drug won't be able to use the new form, oxy-neo, that way.

We've also heard people on the methadone treatment say there's no support services or counselling for them.
