The 22nd Arctic Winter Games begin in Whitehorse on the weekend. For over 40 years, young people from across the north have gathered to celebrate the games' ideals, athletic competition, cultural exhibition and social inter-change.
But there are still those who remember the days before the games and how they came into being. One of them is Ken McKinnon, former commissioner for the Yukon territory and a games pioneer.
