Community Gathers for Raymond Silverfox Potlatch
Over 250 people gathered in Carmacks on Saturday for the final potlatch for Raymond Silverfox. The Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation man died in 2008 after being held in RCMP cells, without any medical care.
The potlatch was a celebration of his life and the love his people have for him. Silverfox belonged to the wolf clan. Darlene Johnson is an elected councillor with the First Nation,. and is also of the wolf clan.
