The festival, now celebrating its 14th year, features acclaimed local, national and international artists from around the world. It takes place January 16 - February 4, at various venues across Vancouver.
The PuSh Festival presents work in the live performing arts: theatre, dance, music, and various forms of multimedia and hybrid performance. The 2018 festival features 150 events, including works from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Taiwan, and the USA.
Highlights of the 2018 PuSh Festival include The Eternal Tides, featuring 20 dancers from Taiwan; King Arthur's Night, a radical retelling of the age-old legend with a cast that includes actors with Down Syndrome; and, Birdman: Live, a screening of the Oscar winning film accompanied by one of the world's greatest living drummers, Antonio Sáchez.
Other highlights include a trio of works from Ireland and four from Australia, shining a spotlight on the best contemporary theatre and dance across the pond and across the world.
