There are over 800 growers of highbush blueberries in British Columbia, making Canada one of the world's largest producers and exporters of cultivated blueberries.
Parm and Satwinder Bains started growing blueberries in British Columbia's Fraser Valley in 1989, "It's a dream come true for us."
Today they, along with their growing partners, harvest nearly 4,500 tonnes of cultivated blueberries per year on approximately 1,000 acres of land.
In 2016, Canada exported over 53,500 tonnes of cultivated blueberries.
