Honest confession here: I'm not a big fan of folk music, so I was a little wary of this one. Just a few minutes in, however, and I knew my skepticism had been entirely unwarranted. I remained thoroughly captivated and highly entertained throughout the show, and near to the end, I may even have joined in on a sing-along, but sources can't confirm that.
This might be a one-man show, but when it's over, you will feel like you've just been introduced to more than 20 characters. Thomas Jones is a consummate storyteller, and his portrayal of American folk legend Woody Guthrie and various key figures in Guthrie's life is truly impressive. Jones has mastered the subtle nuances that differentiate one character from another and he seamlessly integrates them all into one engrossing tale.
