Gas taxes, fish virus, and provincial park funding

Taxing the pumps. We speak with the Canadian Taxpayers Federation about how they think federal and provincial governments could lower the price of gas.

 

A fish farm near Tofino is having to consider culling hundreds of thousands of salmon. This possible depopulation comes after the detection of the ( IHNV) infectious haematopoietic necrosis virus. Gary Marty, fish pathologist for the BC ministry of agriculture, explains.

 

The long weekend is almost here and that means many car-trunks are being filled-up with propane stoves and sleeping bags. And camping in BC parks is also top of mind down at the legislature today. The government announced an additional 3 million dollars in funding for parks improvements. Terry Lake, minister of the environment, explains more.
