Proposed bills, BC Ferries and YIMBY-ism

There are currently 21 bills before the legislature in Victoria. John Horgan, NDP House leader, discusses some of them and explains why there is so much legislation outstanding with only nine days left in this sitting.

Yesterday, the province announced ammendments to the Coastal Ferry Act. The changes include an extra 79.5 million dollars in funding. But the government also cautioned there will be a reduction in ferry services. Ferry Commissioner Gordon Macatee spent months travelling to coastal communities serviced by B.C. Ferries. He discusses his report and the 24 recommendations he has made.

Kris Constable has just started a group in Victoria called YIMBY or "Yes In My Backyard."
