La Seigneurie du Triton: top 10 family hotel
The Top Ten family hotels in Canada, according to TripAdvisor.ca, include just one Quebec destination -- and it's far away from where most of us in the province live.
La Seigneurie du Triton is about a four-hour drive from Montreal or Quebec City, in the upper Mauricie region. When there's no more road, you have to take a short boat ride over to the lodge. (You can also get there by train.)
Once there, there are no TVs, phones or wi-fi. You can hunt, fish, escape into the forest and enjoy gourmet meals - without texting home. It's an ambience true to the outfitter's roots. The original hunting and fishing club was built back in 1893.
