Chef Francis Mallman: grilling Argentina-style

Seven Fires cookbook.jpgMontréal en Lumière is putting the spotlight on Argentinian cuisine over the next week.

And that means we have the pleasure of welcoming into studio one of Latin America's most famous chefs, Francis Mallmann - who is also the honourary president of the festival.

Francis Mallmann is a TV star and the author of the cookbook Seven Fires: Grilling the Argentine Way. He has three restaurants in Argentina and Uruguay where he cooks with wood fire and cast iron.

But - ironically - he first established his reputation as a master of French haute-cuisine.

Due to a misunderstanding with the festival's management, Francis Mallmann left Montreal early but he spoke with Sonali Karnick before the incident about his passion for grilling.
