La Cabane, sugar shack chic

800px-Maple_syrup_bucket.jpgThe maple sap is running early in the Townships, and in Montreal, an urban version of the sugar shack is popping up in the old port.

Gourmet sugar shack restaurant La Cabane opens its doors for five weeks. 

This year's maple-flavoured menu will be created by up-and-coming chef Martin Juneau who was the gold-medal winner at last year's Canadian Culinary Championships. He also recently opened his own restaurant in little Italy, La Pastaga.

Martin Juneau spoke with Sonali Karnick about the updated menu and his own memories from sugaring off as a child.
