Ice cider tasting with sommelier Véronique Rivest
Quebec's trademark ice ciders will be on display at the annual Mondial des cidres de glace from Friday to Sunday this coming week.
The ice cider part of the festival takes place under a tent with sculpted ice counters in Rougemont.
There will also be another tent with Quebec products on display - cheese, chocolate, and foie gra - as well as fireworks, music and ice sculptures. But the main attraction will be those golden bottles from 24 local producers.
The spokesperson for this year's event is a Quebec celebrity in the sommelier world. Véronique Rivest is the top sommelier - or wine steward - in the Americas, and she'll be representing Canada at the world competition in Tokyo next month.
She joins Ainlsie MacLellan this morning, along with two tall cold bottles of ice cider.
