The Underground Comedy Railroad

underground comedy railroad poster.jpg
Canada's only all-black comedy tour stops in Montreal for Black History Month. The second edition of the Underground Comedy Railroad makes a stop at the Comedy Nest on Sunday night, featuring some very funny stand-up comedians from Quebec and other parts of the country - and they won't hold back on talking about stereotypes and some harsh realities.
The lineup includes Patrick Haye who's been known to bring down the house, and the hysterical Andrew Searles.  Joining Sonali Karnick today: host Rodney Ramsey - not only a standup comedian but a sketch comedy writer and actor as well - and Keesha Brownie who's originally from Montreal but now living in Toronto. (She's also the only woman brave enough to go on tour with these guys. )

Steve Patterson and The Debaters at Bishop's

Steve Patterson.jpgThe Debaters on CBC Radio is sort of what your high school debate club would have been like -- had you gone to a school made up entirely of professional comedians.

The show pits the sharpest minds and tongues in the comedy world against each other, both trying to win over the live audience with a mix of funny and fact.

They're bringing the show to the Eastern Townships next weekend. So whereas it's both fun to laugh and to argue, be it resolved that everyone must go see The Debaters on stage at Centennial Theatre at Bishop's University in Lennoxville. Arguing in the affirmative, host Steve Patterson.
