Saguenay dragon at marionnette festival

Saguenay dragon.jpgOne of the biggest puppets in North America will take the stage for the last time tonight in Saguenay.

It's a giant fire-breathing dragon, operated by forklift.

And it's the centrepiece of the Saguenay International Marionnette Festival.

Over the past two weeks,  the dragon has been performing alongside a cast of actors and acrobats. Spectators line the opposite shore of the river to watch the pyrotechnics at night, in a park in Jonquière.

The CBC's Rachelle Solomon met with Montreal puppeteer Louis Gagné behind the scenes - and met the Saguenay dragon face to face...
