Growing produce on Montreal's rooftops
A new farm on the island of Montreal is growing enough vegetables to feed 2,000 people.
But it uses no soil, no manure, no land -- and it just happens to be in the middle of an industrial park.
Lufa Farms occupies a 31,000-square-foot greenhouse -- on top of a commercial building in Cartierville-Ahuntsic.
And it's hydroponic -- meaning the plants grow in water, without soil.
Call it "agriculture 2.0."
Mohamed Hage is the 29-year-old founder of Lufa Farms, and he joins our fill-in host Elizabeth Robertson in studio.
