Political Panel, May 25: How to sell the EI reforms

This week on Parliament Hill, there was lots of talk about getting people back on the job, whether it be the possibility of legislating striking Canadian Pacific employees back-to-work...To controversial Employment Insurance reforms.

 

Under the new rules, frequent users of EI, including seasonal workers, will have to search for and take jobs outside their usual chosen field of work.  As well as accept jobs that pay less than what they're used to. Our political panel, Rob and Julie, has been toiling away on these stories for us.

Political Panel, May 11: Libya mission cost overruns

The cost of fighter jets isn't the only military cost that's soaring.

Today, Defence Minister Peter McKay faced questions about the cost of Canada's mission in Libya. Documents from the Department of National Defence put the cost of the mission at nearly 350 million dollars -- seven times what McKay told CBC it would cost last October.
