You remember this guy, right?

That's character actor Wallace Shawn  -- most know him from his role on the Princess Bride, but he's appeared in literally hundreds of films and television episodes, and he's done everything from inspire the film My Dinner with Andre to provide his voice to the Toy Story franchise. But is he world-famous? Definitely not. Do people stop him in the street? Maybe once in a while.
