Saxophonist Jane Bunnett comes to town

jane_bunnett_roof_01.jpgWell-known Canadian master of the soprano sax, Jane Bunnett, has dropped by Ottawa to play some shows with local percussionist Jesse Stewart. They first met over two decades ago, when both received jazz awards, and they joined us in studio to reminisce about that first meeting and give a preview of this weekend's events.

Jane will give a master class to Carleton jazz students tomorrow at 3pm in the Kailash Mital Theatre on campus, and Jane and Jesse will play together Friday night for two shows at Gigspace, along with local musicians Roddy Ellias and John Geggie -- call 613-729-0693 for reservations.
