Concerns about, and a response to, sexual assaults on OC Transpo buses
Yesterday on the show we talked about how the recent arrest of an Ottawa man has some people wondering just how safe they are on the city's bus network. Thirty-four year old Racil Hilan has been charged in connection with a string of sexual assaults on OC Transpo buses. Now, his lawyer says police got the wrong man and that Hilan has an alibi. But the question remains: just how safe are people -- especially women -- who ride mass transit? And what is OC Transpo doing to protect them?
Julie Lalonde from Ottawa Hollaback raised some concerns when she was here yesterday.
And today, we heard a response to safety concerns from the acting general manager of OC Transpo, Dan Villeneuve.
