Marketing junk food to kids

So this old Hershey's commercial is clearly aimed at kids...

 

 

And if a new provincial report has its way, this kind of advertising will soon be illegal. The "No Time to Wait: The Healthy Kids Strategy" calls for a ban on advertising junk food directly to children, as well as other suggestions such as removing junk food displays from convenience stores and displaying calorie counts on menus.

To talk about whether this strategy could work from a marketing perspective, we heard the thoughts of professor Michael Mulvey from U of O's Telfer School of Management.
