Remembering Barney McCaffrey
He's been called a musician, a teacher, a farmer, a social activist...
And in the Ottawa Valley he was perhaps best known as a storyteller. Barney McCaffrey died on Wednesday after suffering a stroke on New Year's Day at the age of 77.
Barney was born a city boy in the Big Apple, but he preferred the people, places and things he found in Wilno, Ontario. And Ish Theilheimer knows this side of Barney well. He and Barney started the Wilno Express, a band that played songs about life in the Valley. And Ish joined us to share his favourite memories of Barney.
