How an internet "army" is supporting Tanner
We've heard a lot about teen bullying here in Ottawa, and how the Internet has brought the teasing out of the schoolyard to online formats. But for a 14-year-old named Tanner, the internet has turned from a source of torment to a source of support.
After being bullied online because he is gay, Tanner received a couple messages of support. But then one of his bullies posted a comment saying, "What are you going to do? Fight us with your Internet army?"
Sean Ashfield found Tanner's blog, and posted it on the LGBT section of online social news website Reddit. He joined us in studio to explain how he assembled that internet army and helped create the web site "We Love Tanner" as a result.
