Tradespeople call for more apprentices

The Ontario Liberal government has promised to create a College of Trades to attract more apprentices to the trades industries. But the problem, according to the people in the industry, is that they can't hire enough apprentices because of provincial restrictions.

That's prompted a group called the Ontario Electrical League to start an ad campaign complaining about Ontario's apprenticeship rules. Walter Pamic is a member of the league and the owner of Power-Tek, an electrical company in Ottawa. He joined us in studio.
