The Kirpan Controversy

She was hoping to talk about a woman's right to wear the niqab in Quebec. But when Avneet Kaur tried to enter the Quebec legislature with three other Sikhs, they were turned away. At issue was another religious flashpoint: the kirpans -- or ceremonial daggers -- that some of them were wearing. The second-year law student at the University of Ottawa joined us on Thursday to share her views on what happened.
