16 years ago, Michele Genest had never picked a lowbush cranberry. Or a spruce tip. She'd never cooked moose or caribou -- in fact, she'd never even eaten it. But then the Toronto chef fell in love with the North. Now moose and bison are key ingredients in some of her favorite meals.
Michele Genest has put together some of those favorite recipes in a new cookbook, called the Boreal Gourmet: Adventures in Northern Cooking. On Thursday she was in Ottawa serving up some of her Northern dishes -- but she also took the time to stop by our studio.
