Though this election has dispointed, I am happy to atleast see me hold on to my small NDP island. Rachel was projected to win but i was still afraid, i wondered if there was a true left base here or if just people liked Rauj. I can not belive that this was biggest conservative majority since the i can't even remeber. This will only mean less care towards the enviorment, higher fees for collage fees for students, more miss spending of tax dollers, a blaming of the public system for long wait times though the problems really lies with underfunding and an influx of people. I can not belive that the longest politcal dynasty in canadian history could run on change. This province dose not seem to want change they just want to hold on to the same bums the have always had. It almost seems that the Liberals would have a better chance if they ran on same. If they had just said we will do the exact same things the conservative do right now...

Sincerly,

I just tried to vote after a long day of studying and the polling station across from my apartment told me that I was not allowed to vote there. There was nothing that I could do and that I had 5 minutes to run 15 blocks to the 'correct' location. I made it there at 1 minute after 8, the polling station was closed! As I understand it if I take an oath that it is the only place that I will vote I can vote anywhere in my riding that I want! I am so frustrated right now!

I am a little worried that in some of the more left-leaning ridings, such as Edmonton-Strathcona could split the vote between Liberal, NDP, and Green and give the PC candidate an unfair shot at challenging.

We need to seriously overhaul our democratic system, preferential voting etc...

Hey,

If you are looking for your specific polling station, try calling a candidate's office:

Rachel Notley (NDP) - 780-438-2208
Time Vant (Liberal) - 436-6303
T.J. Keil (PC) - 702-4218
Adrian Cole (Greens) - n/a

Worked for me.

I dont know if anybody else has had this problem, but i had a REALLY hard time finding information on where our polling station is. The Elections Alberta website was down and all other resources directed me to that site. After calling the Alberta toll free number for more than 45 mins. i located our station. I think this sends a message about our electoral system. If someone that wants to go vote cant even find out where to go, how do they expect undecided voters to go vote if they dont even know where to go. I realize that they send out cards that say where to go vote but you can't always rely on the mail to arrive, like in my situation. I think its very iresponsible of the government to allow their voting web page to go down DURING elections day when it is most vital. If anybody else is having this problem, the Edmonton Strathcona voting station is at the Strathcona community hall on 87ave. and 102st.(by the Yardbird Suite jazz club).

Glad you brought that up Andy! I'm not even an Edmonton-Strathcona resident, but was on Whyte Ave this past Saturday to enjoy the area. Instead, Tim Vant's propaganda megaphone show was disruptive, arrogant... need I go on?! It was a complete joke! No one was listening, everyone was walking by! People come to Whyte Ave for various reasons... they dont come to the area for that! It was a HUGE turnoff! And I USED to vote Liberal!
Just so you know, I'm not voting Liberal because they want to triple Alberta Foundation for the Arts' budget (when they already receive the most amount of funds)! Other government foundations don't have enough money and women's shelters are having to turn away clients! Yet the Liberals want to give AFA even more money, taking away money from priority needs! So how about Tim Vant's show on Whyte on Saturday? I would have liked to meet up and talk to him but would have been too embarrassed. I think a less in-your-face approach would have been better received.

I'm not impressed by any of the candidates in this riding. I suppose I'll have to go by party - I'm voting Green.

I finally get to vote, and Raj Pannu is no longer running. Sadness.
