I am upset that some people in this forum are taking personal attacks on people that are exercising their civic duty to become a candidate in an election such as the one we just had. A college student has the same rights as everybody else to be in an election, and sometimes, even they have more real world political experience than the people that are talking about them here in this forum. I am a deep supporter of the candidate that they are talking about, and he deserves to be respected as someone who is competent at what they do. The last time I checked, going through high school and college while holding onto a job is plenty of real world experience for me. Also, how do you suppose that someone who has never been a candidate in an election attains political experience. We need more of these young people coming out and engaging in politics to make up for the growing apathy of their older constituents. We need to be supporting these people who decide toi run as candidates or else we risk complete alienation and loss of another generation down the road in alberta politics.

I am disappointed so far with the results of the election but I think that the Liberals have a good shot at winning over some more votes. My dad is running in Calgary-Shaw and I am convinced he has a definite chance at changing the voting over here.

I'm insulted by the qualification of the candidates in my riding. As a traditional PC voter, I was leaning toward the Wildrose Alliance as a possible solution to ineffectual and ballooning government spending under Stelmach. But even I'm not going to vote for a college student with zero real world or political experience.

I do not understand Premier Stelmach's idea of a high school centered around health care education. Obviously he has has not made good contact with the youth and students of alberta. Not only does it promote further streaming and division at such a early age but it seems completely unnecessary because the demand is there. Go to any library at a university and you will see students pouring over textbooks in hopes of getting into medical school. Many students who are completely capable do not get into medical school. There are not enough spaces. This is the problem!
Is there an election coming? I haven't seen anything at all as far as signage.
Don't even know who's running?
I live in Millrise and guess that this would me my riding. Is there not a map to show all the communities and what riding they belong to?
Calgary - Shaw (22) means nothing. When I tried looking up all they say is shaw/midnapore. What about all the communities in the areas. Are they not on the map.
If all the parties want people to get out and vote they should think about letting people know who they are and what their party's policies are. I have not seen anthing so far to get people interested in voting.
I don't even know who's representing in this riding.
All I've seen so far is the nightly news telling me there's an election coming this March 3rd and a few big billboards of Ed Stelmach.
No wonder the voters turn out is so low.

Political observers in Alberta are calling it remarkable and opposition politicians are wondering what hit them after Ed Stelmach guided his Conservative party Monday to one of its biggest majorities ever.
As Premier Ed Stelmach and Alberta Conservatives savour their sweeping election victory, some people are raising a nagging concern: why so few people bothered to vote.
Voters in Alberta stuck with tried-and-true blue, giving the Progressive Conservative party an unprecedented 11th consecutive majority government in Monday's provincial election.
