The dilemma

Today is Election Day. I’m not sure I’ve ever experienced one that felt so “boring” in many ways.
There doesn’t seem to be much fire and passion from either the candidates or the people. Almost every “personal call” I’ve received is from a machine, no one’s come to my door, and even the conflicts between the parties are rather dull. I’m curious to find out how many people actually show up to vote.
I will be voting because I believe it’s one of the greatest privileges a citizen can have. However, it will also be a struggle, and I haven’t really resolved the issue yet.
I am actually more and more impressed by the Wildrose Alliance Party and more importantly, with the integrity of the candidate in my own area. I love small government, freedom to spend my own money how I see fit, instead of the government taking a huge chunk and spending it on things I don’t believe in. I like a lot of the things they stand for.
However, my concern is that by voting for him I will be watering down the strength of the PC party before the Wildrose Alliance has enough support to make a difference. I’m not overly impressed with what the current PC party is doing, but what I DON’T want is for the PC support to be split so badly that the Liberals get in by default.
It’s tricky. I still have some phone calls to make and some questions to ponder before I head to the polls at noon.
I hope to see many of you there.
