Other communities here include Chestermere and Crossfield. This riding consists of the eastern two-thirds of the pre-2004 redistribution riding of Airdrie-Rockyview.

Manufacturing and retail provide the most jobs in Airdrie-Chestermere, where the average household income is $78,096. The riding is tied for having the second-fewest low-income residents in Alberta - 3.8 per cent. Fewer than nine per cent of the residents are immigrants, while 57 per cent were born in-province.

Political History:

Voters here have been represented by Conservatives for the past three decades, except for the winter of 1992-93, when a byelection brought Liberal Don MacDonald to office. Haley beat Liberal Jim Welsh by more than 6,000 votes in 1997, and in 2001 she defeated Liberal Carol L'Abbee by more than 11,000 votes. In the old Three-Hills riding, the PC's Allan Warrack was MLA from 1971-79, holding several cabinet jobs. Tory Connie Osterman also served in cabinet during her time as an MLA from 1979-82.

In 2001, voter turnout was 54.1 per cent.
