Underground fire smoulders near Eagle, Alaska

A year ago the residents of Eagle, Alaska, heard what they thought was an explosion, but it turns out the story is more interesting than that.

A underground fire pushed its way through the earth in a remote part of the Yukon Charley Rivers National Preserve. The fire has continued to burn, and on some days Eagle residents can smell sulphur.
