Private tours considered good stop gap measure

the-boat.jpgParks Canada has had to drop guided tours of two of the Yukon's most popular tourism sites after federal budget cuts, and now private companies have stepped into the breach.

Private operators will be allowed to offer tours of the S.S. Klondike in Whitehorse and Dredge #4 in Dawson City, but tourism operators in the territory say that's only a temporary fix, and a more permanent solution is needed.
