Averill follows his father's musical path
Michael grew up hearing stories about life in the Yukon from his parents, who spent time in the community of Mayo.
That's also where his father, Garry, got his start in music. In fact, Garry Averill spent plenty of time in the CBC Yukon studios, recording original tunes.
Garry was also part of the Farrago Folk Festival, and Michael is on his way to a gig in the town's theatre, site of that very festival back in the 1970s.
