The science of the Stradivarius

They are among the most sought-after musical instruments in the world, and Stradivarius violins are also some of the most expensive.

They produce a remarkably clean, clear sound, but scientists have spent years trying to figure out why they sound so much better than other violins.

Now, one researcher thinks he has the answer.
