Government suspends surveillance program

The Canadian government has told the Canada Border Service agency to stop eavesdropping on travelers' conversations.

The agency launched the program at the Ottawa airport some time ago, without checking with Canada's privacy commissioner. Public safety minister Vic Toews has told the agency to stand down.
