Celebrating Asian heritage month

May is Asian Heritage Month in Canada, and that means at some point thoughts and discussion turn to the internment of Japanese Canadians during the Second World War.

Even though the government officially apologized 25 years ago, the event remains a stain on Canadian history and on the country's civil rights record.

The event affected the families of Yukoners Lilian Nakamura Maquire and Mitch Miyagawa.
