Exhibit details Herschel Island history

Considering it is one of the more remote parts of the Yukon, Herschel Island has a very active history.

It was once a bustling whaling port, and now the island is a focal point for people warning of the damage resulting from climate change, since many of those historic whaling buildings are threatened by encroaching sea water.

Jeff Hunston and Greg Hare are involved in a new exhibit on Herschel Island's history, opening at the MacBride Museum in Whitehorse. The project also involves a new book edited by Christopher Burns of Carleton University.
