Foreign aid cuts damage Canada's reputation

The federal government has announced it will slash funding to foreign aid projects in Africa, and critics say the move is short-sighted and will do lasting damage to Canada's international standing.

Stephen Lewis has served as Canada's ambassador to the United Nations, and as a special U.N. envoy to Africa.
