Bringing the gold rush to the big screen

Scott Silver brought the story of rapper Eminem to life for the movie 8 Mile, and he did the same for some tough guys in The Fighter, a script good enough to garner him an Academy Award nomination.

His latest challenge is writing a script for Howard Blum's gold rush non-fiction book The Floor Of Heaven.

Silver is coming to one principal sites of the gold rush, Skagway, Alaska, for the North Words Writers Symposium.
