Are citizen scientists doing credible work?

All over the world, everyday citizens are out doing important research for scientists.

They collect data about things like climate change and animal populations, then pass it on to scientists who work out problems in the lab, and hopefully come up with some solutions.

But critics wonder if the work being done by citizen scientists is worth the effort.
