They are the gadgets everyone wants to have, and it seems no one really wants to know how they're made.
Some of the material that goes into smartphones and other high-tech gadgets come from war zones, and other parts are put together under dreadful conditions in Dickensian-like factories.
One manufacturer, Nokia, is trying to turn up the heat on its competitors by vowing to use only ethically-sourced materials in its smartphones.
