gym.pngIt's the first week of January--time to put those New Year's resolutions to work. For many people who want to shed a few pounds, getting a gym membership is their first step.

But with all the choices out there -- from specialized studios to big downtown gyms--deciding where to go can be somewhat daunting.

For her advice to what to consider before you commit to a gym, we spoke with Christa Costas-Bradstreet. She's a physical activity specialist at ParticipACTION.
