Why conspiracy theories are so attractive

The American government has been busy the last few decades, plotting the assassination of its own president, faking a landing on the moon and organizing the 9-11 terrorist attacks.

At least, that's what conspiracy theorists would have you believe, and it's nothing new; conspiracy theories have been around for generations.

Martha Lee is a professor at the University of Windsor, and the author of a new book called Conspiracy Rising: Conspiracy Thinking and American Public Life.
