New rules force airlines to advertise real costs

It's a common frustration; you think you have landed a great airfare, only to see surcharges and fees bump the final price through the roof.

Airlines routinely hide those additional costs until the last possible moment, but new legislation will force them to be more up front with the real cost of air travel.

Karl Moore is an airline industry specialist at McGill University.
