Smashing the North American melting pot

A lot of observers are looking at the United States and seeing a deeply divided country right now, but Colin Woodward says those divisions have been there since the origins of the country, and they're no more pronounced now than they ever were.

Woodward explores this idea in his new book, American Nations: A History of the Eleven Cultures of North America.
