Country singer inspires Canadian filmmaker
When Montreal-based filmmaker Tara Johns was looking for inspiration, just about the last place she thought she would find it was in a country music legend.
But Dolly Parton caught her eye, and the more she looked into it, the more Parton's life and work inspired her.
Johns' new film is called The Year Dolly Parton Was My Mother.
Johns is in Whitehorse to present the film, and continue a relationship she has established with Parton's literacy program, The Imagination Library.
