Space debris causing problems on Earth

We've treated our outer atmosphere like a dumping ground for several decades, and now we're paying the price.

There are literally thousands of pieces of junk floating around in space, from disused booster rockets to flecks of paint chipped from space craft.

Those bits and pieces are flying around at tremendous speeds, and causing problems for satellites and the space station.
