Media displays social media double standard

In February, social media was portrayed as a technological saviour for the role it played in the demonstrations that led to the ouster of regimes in Egypt and Tunisia.

Last week, it was demonized by police, politicians and the media for the role it played in the riots that gripped several cities in England.
