Shield's first Canada Reads entry worth the wait

It's hard to believe, but Carol Shields, one of Canada's best loved and most decorated novelists, never had one of her books make the Canada Reads shortlist.

Her final novel, Unless, is one of the five books up for discussion.

Shields passed away in 2003, so to find out more about her and about Unless, we reached her eldest daughter, Anne Giardini.
